Camera Movement And Editing

 1) Pick three aspects of camera movement in the clip. Identify the type of camera movement and write about why the director chose to use that camera movement in the scene and what effect it has on the audience.

2) Pick two aspects of editing in the clip and write about what effect it has on the audience.

1)
Crane: This is when the camera is attached to a crane. This crane shot indicates danger and shows action. This has an exciting effect on the audience as it shows a whole new perspective of the action.

Tilt: This is when the camera tilts up or down from a fixed point. This makes the hero and villains look powerful using a high/low angle as shown in the clip. This then creates a sense of tension within the readers mind as the angle shows the status of each character using the use of camera angles within the tilt.

Whip Pan: This is a horizontal turn left or right, used to follow movement. This creates a feeling of action or drama. This makes the audience feel a part of the action as the camera follows where the action is making it feel real.

2)
Jump Cut: This is when the scene is cut into a different scene. This creates a dramatic feel as the cut of action makes the scene more dramatised than it is. This makes the audience feel interested and raises suspicion on the action.

Pace: This is the speed at which the film cuts from one shot to the next. The slow shots in this clip build tension whereas the fast shots suggest action and excitement.
