Olivia - it has been a real pleasure to have you in our Media lessons - your hard work ethic is not going unnoticed. This is reflected in your blog work and ability to complete blog work to a good standard. You are managing the workload really well even when you have been absent from lessons. The real highlight is your level of detail - applying Hall’s Reception theory to your McDonald’s reception theory blog.

The main concerns are around missing out extended questions on some blogs e.g., the analysis of the Blue Planet trailer with a focus on audience effects theory. This means explaining the different meanings being communicated to the audience in real detail. Have a look at the examples we put on the Year 1 Media blog to see what top-level analysis looks like and try to add more detail to work towards that (e.g. there are extended examples of analysis for both the camerawork and editing tasks).

I think the most difficult topic was camerawork because its hard to remember all the angles and movements.
